Mary King '69

Mary King has been teaching with McDonell Area Catholic Schools for more than 50 years. She celebrated her 50th year in 2025 and was awarded the Outstanding Educator of the year Award given by the Optimist Club in Chippewa Falls.
She holds a Bachelor's in English with a minor in French from UW-Green Bay and another Bachelor's degree from UW-Eau Claire in Elementary Education.
She is a native of Chippewa Falls and has a long history with the Catholic school system. Her mother was a 1942 graduate of McDonell and her two aunts were 1947 and 1950 graduates. Mary is also an alumnus, graduating in 1969. Following in her footsteps is her son, who is a 2009 graduate and her daughter-in-law who is a 2010 graduate.
She's also given the commencement address in 2018 and 2024.
She enjoys spending time with friends and family especially with her grandson, Emmett Stephen King.
