Lisa Covelli

Classes: High School Visual Arts

Lisa Covelli has a Masters of Education in Art Education from the Maryland Institute College of Art where she specialized in both painting and photography.  Lisa has a Bachelor's degree in Education from Northern Illinois University, where she studied ceramics, jewelry, and advanced drawing and painting. 

Lisa has been teaching for 20 years and has taught multiple grade levels. She says she loves being an art teacher because she loves to show students the true magic found in working with hands-on materials and seeing the projection of her students' individual spirits come through. That she says is the greatest joy to witness.  

She enjoys spending quality time with her son, Michael, gardening, making pottery, cooking, sculpting and painting. She stays active by practicing yoga and going for walks outside. 

Ms. Covelli enjoys reading scripture, prayers and poetry. She is originally from the Chicago area and is from an Italian and Swedish family background. She is the oldest sibling with two younger sisters. Today she lives in Eau Claire with her son Michael and their two cats.
