Support FAQs

What is the MACS Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is the school’s most important fundraising program, providing unrestricted immediate-use dollars that support the school’s rigorous curriculum, dedicated teachers and our facilities.  The Annual Fund is a yearly fundraising effort that underwrites the operating budget of MACS.  Gifts are solicited from alumni, parents, friends, corporations, and foundations.

Why does my participation matter?
MACS is a nonprofit institution committed to educating students.  Parish support and tuition cover about 70%  of our operating expenses and without a strong Annual Fund, tuition would increase significantly and programs that we rely on could be eliminated. We strive for 100% participation from our parents and faculty. When applying for grants, foundations often  ask us about the percentage of participation among our various constituents, including the percentage of alumni, parents, and friends donating to the Annual Fund. Your gift, no matter the amount, helps us secure other funding for the school because the higher participation rate among our most loyal benefactors, the better. Your gift does matter!

What if I can’t give a lot of money? I’m on a tight budget.
That same statement is true for many alumni and friends.  Monthly giving is a great opportunity to maximize a limited budget.  A gift of $20/month would provide a student with a week of Catholic education! Any gift to the Annual Fund is valuable.  The only gift too small is no gift at all.

What is a recurring gift?
A recurring monthly (or quarterly) gift is an easy and affordable way to support MACS.  You can specify a day of the month for a chosen amount to be charged to your debit/credit card or your checking account. Many people cannot afford to give a one-time gift of $200, but they can give $20/month, resulting in a gift of $240!

Will I be asked to make a gift each year?
Yes. Just like the name suggests, the Annual Fund is a yearly fundraising effort to raise voluntary contributions from alumni, parents, faculty, and staff.  The gifts received are applied to the current academic year’s operating budget.

What is the Annual Fund goal this year?
The Annual Fund goal is $300,000.  This year we would like to surpass this goal because all gifts above and beyond our annual fund goal will be used toward curriculum enhancements and facilities improvements.
